Steven H. Slater 是本法律事務所的創辦人之一。他負責複雜之專利授權、技術轉移、與聯盟合約的談判，並代理客戶之相關專利申請的準備與正式申請工作。Steve 過去曾在一家極為馳名的專業訴訟律師事務所，擔任訴訟律師的工作；因而可以在協助客戶的時候，獨特地充分發揮他豐富的訴訟背景，為客戶全面評估他們的專利組合、採取必要步驟來保障價值極高的智慧財產資產、並預防訴訟的風險。

Steve 經常受到遍佈全美的其他法律事務所聘請，與他們的訴訟律師團共同合作，就重大的專利侵犯案件，提供其專門技術知識，並評估所涉及的專利。他也經常提供律師法律意見書、參與馬克曼聽證程序 (Markman hearings)、並以專家證人的身份作證。

Steve 也協助他的客戶擬訂並執行有效的授權計劃，而涵蓋轉讓或接受技術的授權。Steve 曾經代理過國內與國外的公司，進行幾乎涉及遍佈全球之商務、技術、與專利組合的複雜專利交互授權談判。

不論是授權計劃的擬訂、合約條款的談判、專利的申請、或是為訴訟團隊提供技術方面的協助；Steve 一律採取巨細彌遺的嚴謹態度，以確保客戶的智慧財產能得到最完善的保障。對於任何狀況，Steve 都會對程序、法律、以及商業等所有相關角度徹底深思熟慮，致力為客戶爭取到最佳的立場。

Steve 曾在德州儀器公司 (Texas Instruments) 擔任產品工程師與專利代理人的工作，負責處理半導體、微處理器、以及軟體等方面的專利申請。此外，他對於電子、電訊、石油與瓦斯業界的分析設備、以及電腦消費產品，也都有專精的技術知識。

除了財富 500 大企業之外，Steve 也與涵蓋海外客戶在內的眾多類型客戶密切合作。Steve 也對這些客戶，在範圍非常廣泛的專利相關事項上提供支援，包括國際專利的申請策略，以及國際授權的交易。

教育背景

Steve 於 1985 年畢業於南佛羅里達大學 (University of South Florida) 的電機工程系，並於 1992 年以優異成績取得南美以美大學 (Southern Methodist University) 之 Dedman 法學院的法學博士學位。Steve 曾任《南美以美大學法律評論》的副執行編輯，而以「頭巾學術獎」(Order of the Coif) 的榮銜畢業於法學院，並且也是美國法律道德與專業學會 (American Inns of Court) 的會員。

會員資格

Steve 是德州律師協會的會員；並經註冊而得以在聯邦地方法院的所有德州分區，以及聯邦巡迴上訴法院的第五分區執業；而且也擁有美國專利商標局的註冊執業資格。
