BIOGRAPHY
Joe Denbina focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patents in the electrical arts. Joe has a broad technical background encompassing telecommunications, cryptography, cloud computing, parallel programming, digital signal processing, medical imaging , radio-frequency design, wireless networking, cellular transmission, power generation and conversion, near-field communications, logic synthesis, and radio-frequency identification systems. Joe also has prior experience using his technical knowledge to represent clients in a wide range of matters relating to IP due diligence, IP transactions, and litigation over claims of patent infringement, breach of contract, and fraud.
Before law school, Joe spent seven years as an engineer for the federal government, including three years working as the lead engineer on numerous multi-million dollar Air Force programs related to encrypted communication systems. During his time at the University of Texas School of Law, Joe served as Associate Editor for the Texas Law Review, Summer Staff Editor for the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal, Speaker Coordinator for the Intellectual Property Law Society, and Co-Magister of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
EDUCATION
Joe received a Doctor of Jurisprudence with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2012, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. While studying for his Master of Science, Joe was admitted as a member of Eta Kappa Nu.
MEMBERSHIPS
Joe was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2012, and became registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2013. Joe is also admitted to practice before the Eastern District of Texas and is a member of the American Bar Association.
